This is a great solution for those that want to add a 2nd HDD or SSD to their Envy 17 -K000, -Kxxx Series laptop. Simply remove your CD/DVD optical drive and replace it with our Optical Bay Hard Drive caddy. This is a really sharp-looking well-engineered product. The front faceplate is finished in silver-grey designed to match the laptop texture and color. The metal portion of the caddy is manufactured in light-weight aluminum to dissipate heat from the drive and to reduce EMI noise. We designed this caddy for the “Performance User” in mind. The hard drive or SSD has secured the bottom of the caddy with four screws (provided in the package). The caddy is secured to the laptop optical drive bay with the metal bracket attached to the back of the caddy (just like the way the optical drive is secured to the laptop).
